Beginning Your BodySlims Journey

Updated: Aug 10

Starting a new program can be both thrilling and nerve-wracking. I remember when I first began; the anticipation was overwhelming, and I was nervous about whether it would work for me. Would I see results? What if I couldn’t keep up? If you’re feeling the same, trust me, you’re not alone, and I completely understand.

As you're about to embark on this new journey, I want to share some insights that I wish I had when I first started. While the program itself will guide you, and you should focus on the advice given by the coach, these additional tips may help ease the transition and set you up for success.

1. Don’t Overwhelm Yourself Take it one day at a time. When I first started, I didn’t have all the things I thought I needed—no kitchen scale, no meal prep containers. And you know what? That’s okay. You’ll figure out what you need as you go along, especially after the initial lectures. Just focus on learning and incorporating new habits bit by bit. The first week is all about onboarding, and it’s a significant learning curve. Just breathe and take it step by step.

2. Commit to the Process This is crucial. You signed up for a reason, and even if you have a bad week, don't give up. Weight loss isn’t linear; some weeks, you’ll see progress, and others, you might not. It’s easy to get discouraged when the scale doesn’t reflect your effort, but trust that your body is working behind the scenes. Have faith in the process, even when you can’t see immediate results. This program is 70 days long for a reason—it’s designed to give your body time to adjust and transform.

3. Give Yourself Grace It’s important to remember that you didn’t gain weight overnight, and you won’t lose it overnight either. Be patient with yourself. You’re not expected to see dramatic changes right away, and that’s perfectly fine. The key is consistency over time. It’s a 10-week journey, and each small step adds up to significant results.

4. Cleanse Your Environment One of the best things you can do to set yourself up for success is to remove temptations from your home. If there are foods or drinks that will derail you—whether it’s alcohol, snack foods, or sugary treats—get them out of your house. It’s much easier to stick to your goals when you’re not constantly battling temptation.

5. Get the Right Tools While you don’t need to buy anything fancy, having a few key items can make the journey easier. A kitchen scale for portion control, comfortable shoes for walking or biking, and meal prep containers are a great start. If you don’t have these things yet, don’t stress—just get them when you can.

6. Plan and Schedule Your Time Print out a 10-week calendar and use it to track your progress. Block time on your schedule each day for exercise and meal prep. Whether it’s in Outlook or on a physical calendar, make sure it’s visible, so you hold yourself accountable. Scheduling time for yourself is crucial. It’s like making an appointment—except this one is for your health and well-being.

7. Journaling and Reflection Keep a journal or use the Notes app on your phone to jot down things that resonate with you during the program. There will be moments when something clicks, and writing it down helps solidify it in your mind. You’ll find that some lessons hit you differently at different times, so keeping track of your thoughts can be incredibly helpful.

Final Thoughts You can do this. The journey won’t always be easy, but it will be worth it. Remember, every small effort you make contributes to the larger goal. It’s not about perfection, but persistence. Stick with it, give yourself grace, and trust the process—you’re on the path to success.

I’m excited for you and can’t wait to see where this journey takes you!
